Newcastle Airport is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Young as the newest member of its Board of Directors. Mark brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the aviation sector. Past roles as Managing Director and CFO at Adelaide Airport, position him as an invaluable asset to the Newcastle Airport team.

Speaking to his appointment, Mr Young said he was excited to join in Newcastle Airport’s growth trajectory.

Mark's illustrious career spans over three decades, including a significant 10-year tenure as Managing Director of Adelaide Airport. He is an experienced non-executive director formerly with the South Australian Tourism Commission, the Australian Airports Association and the Airports Council International. His depth of experience provides him with a unique perspective that is highly valuable in guiding Newcastle Airport's strategic direction.
Mark joined Adelaide Airport in July 2001 as Chief Financial Officer, following a robust 20-year career at Macmahon HoldingsLimited – a contract mining, civil engineering and building construction group. As their Finance Director he gained extensive experience in financial management, leadership and strategic planning.
Mark Young joins Chair Jude Munro AO and fellow directors Deputy Chair Samantha Martin–Williams, Jeremy Bath, Morgan Parker, Nuatali Nelmes, Ryan Palmer, Neil Hart AM, Lee de Winton and Tim Crosdale.
In addition to the Newcastle Airport board of directors, Mr Young will also sit on the Greater Newcastle Aerotropolis Board (GNAPL) over seeing Newcastle Airport’s defence and aerospace precinct Astra Aerolab.
