Newcastle Airport proudly celebrates one year of successful partnership with Bonza, Australia's newest airline, marking a significant milestone in regional aviation and connectivity.
Since its first flight, Bonza has been a game changer for the travel experience for passengers and has connected the people of the Hunter region to two popular destinations, the Sunshine Coast and the Whitsundays.
Newcastle Airport CEO, Dr. Peter Cock, expressed his enthusiasm about this milestone.
"We are thrilled to celebrate one year of Bonza flights from Newcastle Airport. This partnership has been an amazing addition to our route network and for our region.”
“The introduction of Bonza has not only expanded our network but has also played a pivotal role in boosting our passenger numbers, with our February record, exceeding our numbers vs pre-COVID-19 for the first time. We’ve always known our region loved to travel, we’re blown away by the overwhelming support by the wider region.”
“We’re also very proud of what our region has to offer, so the introduction of flights from the Sunshine Coast and the Whitsundays, allows visitors to explore our region, including our world-class vineyards.”
“We’re excited to continue to add to our route network with Bonza and provide more options for our region to travel at a low cost.” said Dr. Cock.
Andrew Warrender, Executive General Manager for Aviation and Air Freight Business Development, echoed this sentiment.
"The past year has been a great one for Newcastle Airport and our partnership with Bonza. Together, we've welcomed over 65,000 Bonza passengers through our doors and strengthened our position as a key player in Australia's aviation industry.”
“People from all over our region benefit from Bonza, including the Central Coast area, who have the golden opportunity to save money and experience the ease of flying the Newy Way.”
“Bonza's commitment to making travel easy and wallet-friendly aligns perfectly with our aim to bring people and destinations together. This is just the beginning." said Mr Warrender
Bonza flies direct to the Sunshine Coast and the Whitsundays from Newcastle Airport, using Bonza’s modern and fuel-efficient fleet.
Travellers are encouraged to download the Fly Bonza app to book flights to either destination or reach out to their travel agent to book.
