Newcastle Airport, the second busiest Airport in the state, is experiencing the most exciting period of its 70-year history as it grows in size, aspiration, and influence.

About the role
Part time (3 days)
The Leasing Officer works directly for the Executive General Manager Property and is responsible for the overall delivery of new property leases for current and future property developments together with relationship management of existing tenants.
A key focus will be strategy formulation, planning, implementation and delivery of leasing activities, specifically for Aviation Astra Aerolab, General Industrial and Roadside Centre precincts and as otherwise required throughout the Property Business Estate. You will also play a key role in converting opportunities by supporting property development activities and projects with key stakeholders and potential and existing tenants.
This role will also work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to enhance the reach of our property leasing, marketing and promotional campaigns, to drive business growth and delivery of objectives within the Property business portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy: Lead the implementation of the overall growth strategy for the Property business portfolio. Develop and review strategic business development plans for leasing activities to optimize commercial outcomes. Assist in planning and delivering business park and property business expansion projects.
Business Development & Leasing: Establish and drive leasing and sales across existing and new property developments. Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to support Property business opportunities. Manage key stakeholder relationships, particularly within the Defence, Government, and commercial sectors. Negotiate and execute leasing and property agreements with various stakeholders. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team for effective property leasing campaigns. Leverage business development initiatives to optimize leasing and property opportunities.
General: Ensure courteous and inclusive behavior, fostering effective working relationships. Represent the Airport positively and professionally to uphold its reputation. Adhere to Newcastle Airports policies, procedures, safety, and security requirements. Demonstrate the highest ethical standards in alignment with organisational values. Complete additional duties within skills and abilities as required by the Manager.
About You
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated business development experience within a similar role preferably within an airport, seaport, business park or multi-use commercial strata environment
- Proven ability to identify, develop and convert business and leasing opportunities
- Ability to research, develop and present commercially viable business cases
- Proven experience in successfully influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders at a senior level
- Highly developed communication skills: written, verbal, interpersonal and negotiation

- Ability to set and meet work priorities and delegate appropriately to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes

- Previous experience using business development, leasing and property strategies and processes
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Local, State and Federal legislation and standards
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Motor vehicle drivers license valid in NSW
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the Defence, aviation, property/retail leasing and / or property development industry
- Understanding of Defence, RAAF and aviation industry, markets and commercial property, retail and leasing delivery
- Demonstrated experience in public speaking and presenting to a variety of demographics
- Understanding of the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD), ‘Green Star’ and NABERS rating systems or energy/resource efficiency
