However, with Fly Pelican still operating from Newcastle Airport to destinations across NSW and the ACT and passenger numbers once again beginning to increase, last week saw the return of the much-loved Cibo Café.
Operated by the airport’s food and beverage operator, CaterCare, Cibo’s legendary baristas Susan, Kelly and Kim, Sharnie and Monique have returned – serving up some of the region’s best coffee – and smiles - all week. With a menu focussed on quality and ease for travel, there’s a selection of hot and cold options with something sure to appeal to almost everyone. Featuring a delicious chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese and aioli toastie and the ever-popular bacon and egg rolls for the savoury fans, or raisin toast for those with more of a sweet tooth, Cibo has got you covered.
Re-opening in the current climate, the team at Cibo have also introduced a range of safety measures in line with current Government guidelines to ensure the safety of all customers. This includes a takeaway-only service, in store social distancing and contactless payment options.
Many who have visited Cibo will remember the amazing array of sweet treats available, of particular mention is the Snows almond biscotti – a Facebook fan favourite – perfect with your flat white or cappuccino!
While the region continues to navigate its way through the current pandemic, and work towards recovery in the longer-term, now is the time for us to come together and support local business. So, if you’re heading off via Newcastle Airport, don’t forget to stop by Cibo and see for yourself what all of the fuss is about.
